I’ll tell ya what…Rangers need centers, who can play a good bottom 6 game/role, cheap ones too..enter McLeod.

Rangers get McLeod, Oilers get Nils Lundkvist and Georgiev for the net. He can play a year behind Smith and then maybe he can start the following year. He’s most definitely not going to cost much. Nils can be at the very least, easily in your top 6 and qb a PP2 unit next year

I was impressed with McLeod all playoffs and we need bottom 6 players, especially a center

I wanna root for the oilers from afar every year, but seems a bit painful lol sorry man. They are so fun to watch, need tweaks but obviously the ingredients are there

Is Woodcroft a done deal for Oilers fans? He did an amazing job and full credit to him but there are some very good coaches looking for jobs right now Cassidy, Trotz, Deboer etc. With Woodcroft still technically interim, I wonder if one of those guys would really help solidify them as a contender going forward.

In any case, great season for the Oilers, was fun to watch!

What makes this hard is so many teams are constructed with average goal tending as it rarely pays to lock in a high salary goalie. I would not be surprised to see Stuart is 1A and Smith 1B next year as that is the only way we will see if Stuart has the pedigree. That isnt what people want to hear but how does he ever get his shot? When is the last goalie the oilers brought up thru the system to take the reigns? Dubnyk? With us having Smith for another year, that maybe the way to test his metal and if he fails we are back in 2006 hoping a Rollie the Goalie is available.
He went 22-7 at 0.920 this year and 20-9 at 0.914 the year before in the AHL. It maybe the best way to work him into the mix. Or if we go out and trade for the next best thing, we may as well save the money and dissolve our goalie development and scouting.

Are you referring to practically playoff PPG forwards Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zach Hyman?

Someone needs to mention what a warrior Draisaitl was. To play the way he did with his obvious mobility problems was damned near miraculous. You folks should be very, very proud of him. His post game comments were also great. It's obviously not for me to say but he should probably be the captain of that team.

Mike Smith has now lost 8 straight playoff games to Colorado. He's a joke and the Oilers would have been better off playing Koskinen,

Holland is GM. He is going to do more stupid poop this summer. You can bet on it. Oilers still building their roster hoping they can outscore their obvious flaws.

PPG but still minus players??

The construction of the team blows donkeys. They won’t make it to the conf finals again for a long time.

Tough to go all in, when the GM has you salary capped past the all-in point. With Nurses increase, and the likelihood of Kane not being here, we are going to be a worse team on paper and still capped out this season.

He’s going to have limited options for sure. But he blew his wad on players that he shouldn’t have last year. I’m sure he’s going to over pay a goalie like Jack Campbell or someone like that. It won’t help at all. He’s locked into to many crappy players.

Draisaitl is the most underpaid player in the history of the universe, but they could move him for a stud number two - 2 way center, stud d and other pieces. Would they consider that?

Take a look at the NHL salary list top to bottom, and its hard to see a way that you can replace his production at that price point even with multiple pieces. Most similar contracts are 20-50 pts less a year.
